These articles are quite 'original' having a seal from their creative minds, meeting up expressly with the purpose of this magazine!
It is therefore my joy to peruse this body of knowledge. I have learnt, been cracked up and have been motivated reading through.
Let me invite you on this insightful journey as you drink from the creative wealth of our heroes now and later! It would be worth your time. I promise.
A big thank you to the 'Great Sirs,' September '91 Set of GCIOBA for publishing this again... We know you will not relent by God's grace. More grease to your elbows.
Appreciation
KOLA ENITINWA,
Sch. No. 9193 (Carr House)
Chairman, 1991 Sept. Set (2018- 2021)
showcase their works and preserve the legacy of the Iconic magazine.
Today, we have successfully published a total of three (3) editions and the fourth edition is in your hands if you are reading this.
Indeed, we are proud to have been able to provide a platform for the young lads to express themselves, and for the success of the Press Club as a whole.
The 1991 September Set under my leadership has relentlessly sponsored essay writing competitions and a junior school debate competition aimed at grooming these young lads to become successful writers, public speakers etc.
To ensure diversity in the content of the magazine, non members alike were given the opportunity to have their beautiful articles, write-ups and reports published.
Furthermore, in our bid to ensure a wider readership, a digital edition was created this year and would run side by side with the magazine going forward as a response to the
rising costs of production and the need to expand readership beyond the walls of our great Alma Mater, GCI.
All of these great things we did with the Press Club couldn't have been possible without the support of the English Language Department led by Mrs Sobo, the Production Team; David Olayiwola, Femi Ojo, Femi Olabokunde, Rasheed Adesokan, also worthy of mention is Muraina Oyekola, who acted as Liaison to GCI on behalf of the Class Set EXCO.
We are immensely grateful to Dr Wale Babalakin SAN, Chief Agbaje, Pa Mosuro, Mr Yanju Adegbite for their support and advice, the Managements of Slyma Signs Ltd, Bicourtney Aviation Limited, Boff & Co Insurance for their corporate sponsorship.
It is with nostalgia that I write this appreciation note for this edition as I conclude the last lap of my tenor as the set Chairman.
The last 3 years of working with these young lads, reviving and publishing the Rock magazine gave so much joy. There are indeed no perfect times for goodbyes, for now its au revoir from me.
